LEGAL SECRETARY/PARALEGAL
We are currently looking for a legal professional who is reliable, a multitasker, eager to learn, and works well under pressure. This is a fast-paced law firm in search of an individual who is proficient with legal terminology, Microsoft Word, and Outlook. Our firm also uses legal software that you will need to learn and understand, along with Microsoft Excel and Adobe.
The individual our firm is seeking to employ will project a professional company image through courteous in-person and telephone interaction as you will be communicating with clients, financial advisors, attorneys, and courthouse employees. You will be tasked with drafting Estate Planning documents, deeds, and legal contracts, along with any and all other documents needed in Estate Planning and Estate Administration. You will also need to be able to read and understand attorney notes and meet strict deadlines. This individual will be in charge of his/her own case files from start to finish and must have the ability to multi-task and be able to work independently to move cases forward without instruction.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
- Minimum of 1-year legal experience.
- Estate Planning experience, including but not limited to, drafting of Powers of Attorney, Advance Directives for Health Care, Last Wills and Testaments, and Trusts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook/Excel and Acrobat Adobe.
- Perform routine clerical and administrative functions, such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining files, and providing information to clients.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent attention to detail to provide quality service to our clients through a team approach.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
1. CLIO legal software (or used legal software)
2. Avery Program
