Meet Attorney Carolyn E. Hartle
Carolyn E. Hartle is the founding member of the Hartle Elder Law Practice, LLC. Her practice concentrates on elder law, estate planning, Medicaid planning, estate and trust administration, and special needs planning. She also addresses issues related to nursing homes, elder abuse, and other concerns of the elderly population.
Mrs. Hartle graduated from Loyola University of Chicago in 1993, cum laude, with a B.A. in English and History. She received her J.D. from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1996. However, during her final year of law school, she attended the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Law to take advantage of the numerous elder law courses offered at that institution.
After graduating from law school, Mrs. Hartle joined the law firm of Ekker, Kuster & McConnell, now known as Ekker, Kuster, McConnell & Epstein, LLP, as an associate. She remained there until July 2002, when she joined the law firm of Lewis and Ristvey, P.C. She was affiliated with Lewis and Ristvey, P.C. until August 2012, when she founded Hartle Elder Law Practice, LLC.
Mrs. Hartle is admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Mercer County Bar Association. In 2009 and 2010, she served as the Treasurer of the Mercer County Bar Association. Additionally, she is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Pennsylvania Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Elder Law Section, and the American Bar Association. She regularly speaks at senior centers, healthcare, and community groups on topics such as estate planning, estate administration, and elder law. Since January 2010, she has also written a monthly article for Life & Times: A Magazine With Senior Flair.
